Privacy Policy — Parallax

Parallax ("Parallax", "we", "us") is a couples app. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and your choices.

1. What we collect

• Account & auth: email address, and authentication identifiers (incl. Sign in with Apple / Google if used). Managed via our auth provider (Supabase).
• Profile: display name, avatar initial, notification time, "spice level" preference.
• Pairing: your invite code and the link between you and your partner ("couple").
• Daily activity (sensitive): your answers to daily prompts and the hunches you place about your partner; your "wavelength"/reveal results; entries in your shared Love Map; messages and topics you submit to Refocus (AI conflict mediation).
• Device & usage: app interactions and events (analytics), and a push token if you enable notifications.
• Purchases: subscription status for Parallax Plus (processed by the App Store / Google Play / RevenueCat — we do not receive your card details).

2. How we use it

To operate the core loop (deliver daily drops, gate and compute the reveal/wavelength), power Refocus AI mediation, send notifications you opt into, provide and restore purchases, keep the service secure, and improve the product via aggregate analytics.

3. How sharing works — and the privacy gate

• Your partner: by design, your daily answers become visible to your paired partner only after both of you have submitted (the "reveal gate"). This is enforced server-side (database Row-Level Security), not just in the app.
• Service providers (processors): Supabase (database, auth, realtime — hosted in Singapore); Anthropic (processes Refocus messages to generate mediation responses); the App Store / Google Play / RevenueCat (subscriptions); our analytics and push providers; our transactional email provider. They process data only to provide their service.
• We do not sell your personal data.
• Legal: we may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

4. Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Access to intimate data is governed by Row-Level Security so a non-member or a pre-reveal partner cannot read your answers. We follow least-privilege for server credentials.

5. Retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can export your data and delete your account in-app: deletion erases your profile and answers and dissolves the couple link. (Some provider backups/logs may persist for a limited period per their policies.)

6. Your rights

Access, export, correct, or delete your data — primarily self-serve in the app (Profile → Export my data / Delete account), or contact pirsquare.yash+parallax@gmail.com. Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR/PDPA), you may have additional rights.

7. Children

Parallax is for adults in relationships and is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to use it.

8. Changes

We'll update this policy as the app evolves and revise the "Last updated" date; material changes will be surfaced in-app.
